Art of the Gift Basket
I have briefly mentioned the Grand Rapids store Art of theTable in blog posts several times in the past. This specialty store opened in October 2003 and has been an inspiration for many blog posts including stories on Patricia’s Chocolates, Daily DeLish, and Dancing Goat Creamery. They also sell Cherry Republic and The Hotel Kitchen products. If I ever run out of ideas, all I have to do is take a walk through Art of the Table for inspiration. The location is on Wealthy street right down the street from The Winchester – another recent story.
I stopped by recently and chatted with owner, Amy Ruis, about the Michigan gift baskets that they create in the store. Amy is an expert on Michigan food and beverages. She loves what she does with the store and our community – and it shows in the beauty of the store.
Tis the season! Below are a few ideas.
The Michigan Breakfast Basket could include granola, jam, peanut butter, honey, maple syrup, teas, and blueberry muffin and pancake mixes.
The Michigan Wine and Snack Basket could include a wine from their extensive selection, Mrs. Dog mustard, nuts, grilling sauce, chutney, and salsa.
The Michigan Pasta and Sauce Basket could include pasta, sauce, and hard cheeses.
The store also sells Michigan-shaped cutting boards and oven mitts and Cookbooks such as The Grand Rapids Junior League 1970s vintage book and Encore, the book from the Grand Rapids Symphony.
Should I send you my address?
